C-hook and roll clamps

The CH1 is designed to meet the customer’s specific coil handling requirements under the hook environment.

Hook applications with coil:

CHP is designed to move small palletised leaves from horizontal to vertical. Custom designed for various weights and coil sizes.

The coil hook has a lower member length (dimension “L”) equal to the maximum width of the coil. The full length support feature of this hook C increases the amount of surface in contact with the coil, minimizing the possibility of damage to the inside of the coil.

Our load-lifting equipment is welded together by certified specialists in accordance with the assessment group C-DIN EN 25817. At Axzion we work exclusively with tested 3.1b steel plates of S355J2G3 quality. We are proud holders of the advanced welding certificate, as per DIN 18800 and DIN 15018, for dynamic and static support structures.

Unless stated otherwise, our load-lifting equipment is constructed in accordance with the currently applicable requirements of DIN EN 13155 (non-fixed load-lifting equipment). As per DIN EN 13155, this allows for a maximum of 20,000 load cycles under full load. In this way, the lifespan of the load-lifting equipment is reached.

Attention should be paid to:

Work with the coil hook without a counterweight is only possible with small coils, because the coil hook has to be manually put into the coil. When attaching the load, it is always important to pay attention to the centre-of-gravity height point of the load and to make a critical assessment of this! It is conceivable that the load’s centre of gravity is lower than the points at which the load is attached. In the event that the load’s centre of gravity is higher than the points at which the load is attached, extra care is needed!

Our coil hooks are available in the following design.

Robust design made of high-quality steel backed with a material test certificate. The support arm points upwards with a tilt of approx. 3° under load; the coil hook is kept horizontal with the counterweight when not under load.

The high quality coil hook can be protected through the use of secutex impact protection, a polyurethane compound material with outstanding toughness. secutex impact protection can be applied to the upper part of the prong and to the back inside portion.

• Vario coil hooks

If the centre of gravity of the load is not exactly beneath the crane hook the hook will hang at an angle when loaded with the attendant risk of the coil slipping off. Axzion-GKS, the specialist for load lifting gear in the worldwide SpanSet Group, has now developed the Vario coil hook for variable coil widths.

• Vario Suspension

Interchangeable eye-suspension made of special high-tensile chain steel. The hooks of modern crane systems are considerably smaller and normal hooks fired from structural steel often no longer fit. The suspension is interchangeable and can be subsequently adjusted, e.g. when using the crossbeam in a different building or following the installation of a new crane

No counterbalance

With no load two heavy duty gas struts hold the crane hook suspension within the centre of gravity range. A heavy and bulky counterweight is no longer necessary.

• One hook for all coil sizes

The centre of gravity of the load is quickly and easily changed and the suspension eye glides on its rollers to the lifting position. Decision makers will take note that only one hook has to be purchased. Downtime caused by the continuous replacement of the hooks on the crane is obviated.

Commercially available coil hooks are perfectly suited to one coil width of coil but where different coil sizes are handled different hooks must be used. If the centre of gravity of the load is not exactly beneath the crane hook the hook will hang at an angle when loaded with the attendant risk of the coil slipping off.
